Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (ALC) External Wall Self-Insulation System and Matching Dry-Mix Mortar
(i.e., Construction Method of ALC Thin-Layer Anti-Crack Mortar and Matching Dry-Mix Mortar)
Self-Insulation System Overview
Energy conservation is a basic national policy of China. Building energy efficiency has become a consensus among the government, construction developers, and building users. Aerated concrete is a new type of wall material that achieves the optimal combination of resources, performance, and cost.
Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (ALC) is a lightweight material with a porous structure, featuring a porosity of 70-80%, high water content, and rapid self-shrinkage. The material exhibits obvious dry shrinkage and wet expansion characteristics, which are significantly affected by humidity. Dry-wet cycles can cause shrinkage deformation of the material, leading to tensile stress on the surface and subsequent wall cracking.
After years of R&D and practice, combined with on-site construction experience, Yishibao Company has analyzed the causes of cracking in aerated concrete block infill walls. We have proposed a thin-layer construction method and matching dry-mix mortar products, including masonry adhesives, interface agents, lightweight mortar, and anti-crack mortar. These solutions effectively solve the problems of hollowing and cracking in aerated concrete blocks and panels.
